Backyard parties are where most rentals go wrong
A lot of Newton events happen at home. Graduation parties in June, tented weddings, milestone birthdays on the lawn. It is a genuinely great setting for a photo booth and it is also where a rental most often falls apart, because an outdoor setup has requirements an indoor one does not.
Power is not your problem
We carry our own generator. The booth can go at the far end of the yard, in a field, or under a tent with nothing run to it. If there is a convenient outlet we will use it, but a lack of power is never a reason to put the booth somewhere worse. Most rental companies will tell you to find an outlet within 25 feet. We do not need one.
It has to be under cover
A tent, a pergola, a covered patio, or an open garage. The booth is a camera, a screen and a printer, and none of those can sit in direct sun or weather. Full sun also blows out the photos, so shade is about image quality too, not just safety.
It needs level ground
The booth stands on legs. A patio, a deck, or flat compacted lawn all work. A steep slope or soft ground after heavy rain does not. If you are unsure, send a photo of the spot when you book and we will tell you honestly.
It needs a rain plan
Decided in advance, not at 4pm on the day. A tent, a garage, or a room we can move into. Moving a set-up booth in weather costs time we would rather spend running your event.
Outdoor wedding and corporate setups start at $1,520 for four hours, versus $1,320 indoors. The difference covers the extra setup, weather protection and bringing our own power.

Graduation parties
June and early July, usually at home, usually outdoors, usually three generations in the same backyard. Book early, that window fills fast.
Tented weddings and receptions
At home or at a club. Four hour minimum because receptions run long and guests keep coming back to the booth all night. Custom frames with your names and date are a $100 add-on.
Bar and bat mitzvahs
Function rooms and temples. The attendant matters most here, because the booth gets mobbed in bursts by thirty or forty kids at once rather than used steadily.
Milestone birthdays and anniversaries
Fiftieths, sixtieths, retirements. Mixed-age crowds where a printed strip in someone's hand beats a photo nobody ever looks at again.

Unlimited sessions, a trained on-site attendant for the whole booking, setup and teardown, a 30 to 50 piece prop kit, instant prints in photoslip holders, and our standard frame designs.
Every photo, not just the strip
Each session generates a QR code before your guests even leave the booth. They get the finished strip, an animated GIF, and every individual photo we shot for that strip as its own full resolution file. Most booths hand over the printed layout and nothing else. You get all of it.
The album
After the event we send you a private cloud album with every photo from the whole night in one place, full resolution. Yours to keep, post and pass around.
Paid add-ons
Custom frames with your names, date or logo start at $100. Backdrops are $65 and are worth it outdoors, where the background is a fence or a neighbour's garage. A mini scrapbooking table is $120.

Yes, and we do it often. It needs to be under cover and on reasonably level ground. A tent, pergola, covered patio or open garage all work. Send us a photo of the spot when you book and we will tell you honestly whether it will work.

The booth has to stay dry, so we need a rain plan agreed in advance. A tent, a garage, or a room we can move into. Decide it when you book rather than on the day.

Is there a travel fee for Newton?
No. Newton is inside our core service area and there is no travel fee to any of the thirteen villages.
Can we see the booth before booking?
Yes. Walk into our Newbury Street shop in Boston or the Harvard Square shop in Cambridge, use the booth, and take a strip home. It is the same equipment we bring to your event. No appointment needed.
How far in advance should we book a graduation party?
As early as you can. June graduation weekends are the tightest dates of the year and they fill months ahead, often with several parties on the same Saturday.
